I am excited to try the marshmallow recipe. I have always wanted to make them at home. The hot chocolate is a must.

I love long afternoons over warm beverages! Kevin and I go to the coffee shop in town and linger for a couple of hours over drinks. It’s a nice change of scenery. I made marshmallows a couple of years ago with my mom using a 9X13 pan. We made 96 1 inch cubes. Way too many marshmallows! I like the idea of making a smaller pan of marshmallows and cutting them into larger cubes. Big marshmallows in hot chocolate are like big ice cubes in cocktails: you get to savor the benefit without sacrificing flavor! I love the styling of these photos. That simple paper cup is the best! And the shot of the chocolate being poured makes me swoon.

I would have never thought to use corn starch in hot chocolate but from the pictures it looks like that’s what I’ve been missing. This looks absolutely divine. I’ll have to make this as soon as I find corn starch in my apartment- it’s quite cold here in Minnesota, and hot chocolate is one of the treats that makes winter worthwhile.

Oh my… this hot chocolate reminds me of the insanely wonderful Florentine hot chocolate served at a place called Carluccio’s in London… Love, love. (though no marshmallows in that version) And your photography is simply gorgeous!

One of the City bakery staff once told me that their hot chocolate (which for me is the closest thing you’ll find to a Parisian chocolat chaud… addictive to say the least) is a mix of both dark and milk chocolates. I’m thinking this is the key to deliciously rich but not bitter.

Gorgeous, dense homemade marshmallows are always fantastic with hot chocolate, so much better than the brittle fake stuff you get with hot chocolate mixes.

I live in NJ, and found a lil’ shop in suburban Edison that sells drinking chocolate by the bag. And I got a nice bag of ROSE-FLAVORED marshmallows to go with. It is so tasty.
